What’s the best thing in the world to hear when you wake up?

I’m a diabolical genius. Not only did I come up with a way for you to set my question for today - but I’ve also been able to condense my posts into one post instead of the usual two! Because the winner is tomorrow’s competition. I know, you’re right - I’m a genius.

More importantly than that, is the fact that I am currently writing this. Because it looked for a while like I wouldn’t get it done on time. What with meetings all day and appointments all afternoon - I haven’t had a chance to sit down and get this done. I’m in the carpark of Woolworths right now waiting on Lara (my wife) who is getting us stuff for dinner.

Sometimes I wake up on Monday mornings to the lovely relaxing noise of garbage trucks. They come down one street near me, turn the corner and go up another street. All the while making huge hissing noises and banging of bins. I mean it’s only 4.30/5am so who wouldn’t want to hear that?

On this conference I went to on the weekend, my room-mate (one of the tallest guys ever) and I spent about 10 minutes carefully chosing which sound from our phones would wake us up in the morning. After having predicted that most of the noises on a mobile phone would be rather annoying - we chose an mp3 that was calm and easy to wake up to.

My phone was on silent, we woke up late.

So the question for today, thanks to Byron again - What’s the best thing in the world to hear when you wake up?
