Synopsis : It Was The End Of The World
Tuesday, March 25th, 2008Over Easter - which was great indeed, I spent some time with a girl. She is about 17 months old, and has about 16 words. Her favourite is ‘mumma?’ but she could communicate pretty much whatever she wanted with any of the 16 words (but mostly just ‘mumma?’). Her life so far hasn’t been too exciting nor too boring. Although one thing is clear: every time someone does something that isn’t what she wants it’s the end of the world. I think if you were to make a synopsis of her life, it would be a series of events - usually not too distant from each other, where the world is about to end.
When we get older, we learn to ignore that feeling even if it is true. So what has your life been like this year? I’m really happy with the quality of your years so far. It’s like getting free interesting stuff in my inbox every day when I open it. Gold - pure gold? Here’s some you prepared earlier…
- Crap.
- I battle disease… and win. I wrestle with life.. and tie. I challenge procrastination… and lose.
- Jan - Sleeping on hols.
Feb - Wife tells me to GetUp.org.au
Mar - He is risen indeed. - A whirlwind of partying, working and trying to find a new job all mixed in with a massive milestone in my life, moving out.
- I came back from mission. My friends moved to Canberra. I lost my job. Changed churches. Got dumped. Started uni. And soccer. Started feeling better.
- 2008 has been good so far
Though challenging in places
Some of it has been bizarre
But I’ve met some nice new faces - My year to far, I have to say, has been pretty good but I want more pay!!!
To sum it up, I think we should announce the winner - and if it weren’t for the last competition she might have had three in a row! Rebecca, your year hopefully just got one dollar better.
Although others may say quite clear,
“Having a terrible year!”
Always the same
Got noone to blame
From me? “No worries,” is all you’ll hear!
Great poem, great fun - thanks for the love ![]()
