Wake Up To Disco Music on Your Birthday
Today is my younger brother’s 24th birthday and as our usual tradition dictates, we went over to my parents house (where he lives) to wish him a happy birthday and have some breakfast before heading off to work. So - what did he wake up to? Me! Being a right silly man singing happy birthday loudly to help him get up. Oh and my wife, another brother and his wife singing too. It was much fun for us - not much fun for him. We then decided that since he wasn’t up yet we would act like my father. Make as much noise as possible without thinking about other people at that time of the morning. It was great. But it did not get him up. Food ended up getting him up - it always does. Guess what we gave him for his birthday?
So what would you like to wake up to? Here’s just a few of the entries received today:
- When I wake up, I think it’s funny: hear the sheets and dream it’s money!
- I love to wake up to the sound of my better half snoring!
- The bing of a new email telling me I’ve won a dollar.
- “George Bush was assassinated this morning.”
- “Oh my god! You’re more beautiful than I remembered!”
- The staccato SNAP of sinovial sap, and the creak of my ankle, too!
Not everyone of those was the greatest sound I could imagine - guess which one was my least favourite?
No - my favourite today came from Cecile again. She entered a really nice warm entry that made me think I’d like to drink coffee in the morning some time. Here’s how she’d like to wake up:
The sound of water boiling
In the kettle, signaling;
Then poured into my mug of coffee,
Stirred and brought beside me…
What a wonderful morning!
Great stuff Cecile! Enjoy your dollar - maybe like Byron you will spend it all at once.
I’d advise against it.

Andrew, tnx! It’s really good that you bring out all the other entries as well…They might think you’re favoriting me.
(And for the 3rd time, PayPal gave me a dollar less 34 cents again. It doesn’t explain what it is for. Since we’re both verified and you did not use credit card, I wonder what reason there is to deduct me a 34% fee!)
